It was a beautiful Autumn day in Florida…
My youngest and I decided to rake leaves into a big pile for the sole purpose of leaping into them. He giggled and chortled with each leap “Come on mom! Jump too!”
… It seemed like a good idea at the time…
I piled the leaves nice and high and leaped!
Now. I am a huge fan of taking big leaps in life. Live fearlessly!
However, as a newly 43 year old woman, with a bit of extra cushioning (that I honestly thought would protect me) in hindsight, some leaps should not be taken.
You may possibly break your ass and spend a few weeks wincing every time you sit down on the special butt pillow you overnighted from Amazon.
I learned 3 things that day -
1. There are less dangerous ways to connect with my inner child - splashing in puddles for example (a definite favorite)
2. Metaphorical leaps = Good! Physical leaps = Less Good.
3. My ass does not bounce.
